science league + other stuff
So today was quite interesting, first, I learned from Mrs. Pion that my pages for yearbook need to be partially submitted or something by Monday (ARGHGHAAAAAHHH!!!!), and then the science league meet was quite interesting. Although Derek wasn't origianlly going to come, he came. After having an extremly bumpy bus ride through the back streets of East Longmeadow and Springfield to get to WNEC, (along with Rob's antics with a plastic bag, such as trying to suffocate John Whang) we got to WNEC in one piece, and my back hurt a lot from being bumped around so much.
Anyways, my event that I worked on with Derek and Matt was a complete flop, we failed our team and it cost us the meet, 4th place :-( (but next meet is a pasta tower, and i'm usually good at building things, [just like building the boomilever, just vertical (although we built the boomilever vertical, right Ian, lol)]). So after having my fill of cookies and fruit punch, and watching Linda chase Dan Sampson with her shoe (Dan called her fat, I guess that's an extreme insult for a girl), and Sampson running through some other girl while trying to get away from Linda, we had another bumpy bus ride back to LHS. (I was going to take a picture of our stupid worthless little invention, but I think Derek threw it out).
So here I am now, trying to write a personal essay for english, and I can't think of anything personal that is worth writing about. Furthermore, i'm still searching for a quote to go on that little blue piece of paper for yearbook, how foolish and utterly stupid that we only have one day to fill it out, oh well. Here's some of the things that I've found that I like so far::::::
-- Douglas Adams
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof
is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
--Socrates
The simplest form of math is music
-Alfred Hitchcock
We seem to have a compulsion these days to bury time capsules in order to give those
people living in the next century or so some idea of what we are like. I have prepared
one of my own. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder, and
nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what
we are really like."
Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.
--Victor Hugo (i think i'll use this one)
